Cellular on Patrol (COP)
A secure environment is very important to members of this community. Residents are active in all aspects of community policing activities. We give time and attention to helping our neighbors. The following programs are emphasized here:
CELLULAR ON PATROL (COP). Our organization’s number one goal is to help reduce crime through active observation and through communication with others, neighbors and the police. Through San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) training, we learn to recognize and report potential opportunities for crime. COP members work closely with the police to make our community a safer place to live. There are approximately 79 volunteer neighbors in Roseheart that are trained who participate in frequent walking and driving patrols. You will recognize our volunteers by their white COP hats and T-Shirts and their ID badges.
Plan to join the ranks of our COP members. It is a “non-contact sport” of neighbors watching out for neighbors. One or two walk abouts or drives a month will make the difference in your neighborhood’s security. Follow the COP checklist and fill out a simple COP Log or a paperless version (Paperless Roseheart COP Log). You can read the Roseheart COP Bylaws to see how the organization functions. Contact a COP member for details on joining. As for getting the training you will need, call the Roseheart Clubhouse Manager at 210-497-1557.
