Roseheart Tree Care
Saturday, August 8, 2009 saw 45 Roseheart residents listening to Thomas Sillitoe, certified arborist with Davy Tree Company, discuss care of oak trees. The beautiful oak trees in Roseheart add tremendous value to our neighborhood and homes and we should all be interested in taking care of them.
The main topic of discussion centered on the disease “Oak Wilt”. This is a devastating disease once it gets into an area. It is present in areas of San Antonio maybe as close as 2-3 miles from Roseheart. At present, Oak Wilt has not been detected in Roseheart and we want to keep it out. Treatment of this disease is expensive and largely not effective. The best way to stave off this disease and others is to keep the trees healthy.
The topics below contain links to files that contain the scanned handouts from the meeting and also the section from the Roseheart Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions that tells what each homeowner’s obligations are with respect to prevention and treatment of Oak Wilt. Please review them and let’s all work together to keep Oak Wilt out of Roseheart.
